Places to Visit
Your tour package to Udaipur would possibly include a tour of the City Palace. It was built in 1725 and now is a hotel and some parts of it have been turned into a museum. Jagdish temple is another place you can visit. It is dedicated to lord Vishnu and was built by Maharaja Jagat Singh in 1651.

Visit Fateh Sagar, which was originally built by Maharana Jai Singh and was rebuilt by Maharana Fateh Singh after it was destroyed by the flooding, supposedly caused by the breaking of a dam. You can also check out the Lake Pichola, and the two palaces Jagniwas, which used to be the summer retreat for the prince of Mewar and Jagmandir.

You can also take a tour to the shilpgram, which is a craftbazaar that showcases the handicrafts of different states of India. Do try to visit the Bhartiya Lok kala Musum which houses paintings, dolls and masks. It is open everyday and a great place to check out the arts and crafts of Udaipur.

Restaurants abound between the City Palace and the Jagdish Temple on the east side of Lake Pichola, catering for all budgets. Many hotels have rooftop terraces and popular restaurants with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian fare such as Anna, Jagat Niwas, Gyaneshwar Lodge, Fateh Prakash Palace (City Palace) which also serves afternoon English Tea as does Lake Palace, which is expensive and has plush surroundings. (The James Bond movie, Octopussy was shot in both the later locations.)
